Leadership
Leadership is important in any group or organization. In many cases leadership happens naturally or it can happen through pure hard work and knowledge. It is not easy being a leader but it has its advantages and disadvantages. According to Harvard's study about leadership they say that "successful leaders go through more failure than success to realize what true success means." Leadership can in spectrum is the key for our company to keep running and not fall down. We have many leaders and many people that are willing to lead our workers to make Spectrum successful. There are somethings to work on such as co-workers doing what they are supposed to be told and stay on task but we cannot blame just one person but work towards the goal together.
Leadership is one of the most important traits I would say that best defines me. No matter what class or sport that I participate in I always take a role of leadership. I was the Junior Varsity Captain of the water polo team and not many step up to the position. During games and practices, it is my job to lead the team into success, as well as making the correct plays so we could win. During our last tournament against Fenwick high school, the team was 11-8 during halftime and it was really devastating for us to drive so far and come home with nothing. But I was able to step in and talk to the teammates and decided to run 2 which is an aggressive offense. Many of the teammates were ready to quit and with a lot of encouraging we gave it our best shot and tied the game 13-13. We went into overtime and the next one to score a goal would win. We were all tired and put them up with a good fight. 2 minutes into overtime we scored and won the tournament.
At Spectrum we believe everyone can be their own leader, and everyone can reach their full potential. It will be a long year but we will continue to do our best and make Spectrum the successful company it will be. In class I demonstrate leadership in my team where i make sure that when out CMO doesn't pay attention,I tell my coworkers and get the work done. There are also many leadership traits that i have developed over years, for example one of my coworkers has had a hard time completing her job and sometimes she needs a little push but nobody cares enough to help her. I make sure that all my coworkers are on the same level and working as a unit efficiently.
I rate myself this month 9/10 for my leadership because i been very efficient with my work and have guided others to success in my department. I wish next month or throughout the rest of the year I can help my coworkers to finish work and be on task more!
PROFESSIONAL
Being professional at work and a everyday basis is essential goal for me. At Spectrum I hope to show professional accountably towards my coworkers and my boss. Once a man told me that no matter where you are in life have respect towards others and they will give you the same respect.
Nowadays I have had a build up of local fans for the music I make. I used to think at the beginning of High School that Im going to be a regular student and graduate. But to my surprise I had shown respect and have been professional with my work to get to the point where I am now. Producing music has been also taught me a few things such as listening to others and learning to understand tone and speech. When you hear so many voices in music, it will be easy to understand someones thoughts because people like me work with different people and all their voices give me a understanding.
One of the things that I had to be professional at was the Tennessee trade show. Down below where in the matter of days I had to quickly change the whole presentation and print and get information to present to the judges. This could've been avoided due to our CPO's not communicating properly and which caused a whole mess up, but I had grace under pressure. Yet Zach and I had to stay professional and get our anger and frustration out before we presented. Overall we did well and the judge came back to us and said that we should've won.
Before I talk to people I haven't met before I learn to understand them and based on that I use my speech to communicate in a professional way. Overall everyone at Spectrum should respect one another and show a professional attitude to everyone. It will build the company in a way that it will make us all strong. Being professional for me was hard at first when I kept using my phone constantly and listening to music when others were talking but soon i realized that i need to pay attention and work with my coworkers to get things right and done properly. I had learned from the trade-show that none of the members of our sales team was ready for this presentation when Zach and I went to the trade show. Nobody on the team had done their work properly but now that I know we will work towards our goal and make Spectrum better than what it was. This month I would rate myself a 8/10, due to many aspects but most importantly I can earn those 2 points back by being more stright foward with my coworkers and complete work before time.

Functional
I believe being functional is very important, due to many reasons. You need core business skills needed to perform within a specific industry or business function, and I believe this month I have done that. I have learned from experiences and gone to previous trade shows to learn how a business function could work. Being functional can be very useful and can help others realize how to perform in their department. When I first went to the Tennessee trade show I thought what our company had was enough and that we will stand out, but once we got there we realized how much we need to improve. The sales me and Zach made were just purely talking to people and using our business language to get customers to buy the product.
The day after the trade show it hit all of us on the bus ride home on how much better we could've done and that we could've won the business marketing presentation. This month I tried to prepare my other coworkers that will be going to the Great Lakes Trade show on how to present yourself and what to expect. I would overall rate myself a 8/10 this month because I think there is still a few things that i can improve on and further strengthen my knowledge. I think overtime that I will eventually understand how to get better by talking to more people and making myself go up on the ladder.
One of the other things that needed to be mentioned was how to execute my plan to get better. One of the things that help me plan better is to write things down on paper step by step and work my way up to the goal. One of my first steps to get myself better at being functional is learning how to be good at presenting skills. One of the problems I have is I cant look everyone in the eye and present my product, I would be either looking at a few people or just the screen which can be quite a problem because sometimes you will have to speak to a larger audience some point in life. The rest of the steps follow on the previous step making the whole process strengthening yourself.

Core Technology
For this month I worked on many tasks, but one that relates most to it is the brochure that my team and I worked on. I came up with the idea that we should hand out brochures and market our company better. So I used a website called Canva and it is a free brochure website to design a brochure of your choice. I was able to tell others and do a little bit of divide and conquer with Dylan who helped design it along with me. We were able to finish the brochure on time but they couldn't print it on time for the trade show and some copies came out flipped and it really messed up the format of how a brochure should look. Me and Dylan were a little mad but this other coming trade show we should be all set to print out and get things settled.
One of the other thing our company as a whole have been doing it using a website called Monday.com and we have all tried using it but it didn't end up working due to the expiring free trail and everyone would have to pay to use. For Marketing I know it helped us get organized and have more people do tasks more effectually. Maybe this could be used next year for future VEI classes and NV business could do something about the membership thing to get the website running year round. We also did a company email send-out and for some we got responses and we are communicating to other companies about buying each others packages or products which will also benefit our company as a whole
This month has been rather short and there wasn't much to do other than the same usual tasks, but the semester is almost halfway and we need to start pulling up our socks if we want to make things happen before the school year ends. I rate my self a 9/10 because I think things have been going smooth and everyone is more in order and working more like a company. Next month I plan to set some goals for myself and expand my communication through technology. Our company is doing great as a whole and I think we can do better!
